Students are expected to adhere to standards of dress and appearance that are compatible with a safe and effective learning environment. The Cleveland County Board of Education adopts a dress code to create a positive learning environment, teach good grooming and hygiene, instill discipline, prevent disruption, avoid safety hazards, and teach respect for authority.
Students in violation of the dress code will be sent to ALE. At this time they will have the opportunity to call home for more clothes or they can get clothes from the social worker. If they are not able to fix the dress code issue, then they will serve the rest of the day in ALE. Shirts should cover shoulders, chest, and abdomen and pants should be worn at the waist. Skirts and shorts should be longer than finger tip length and anything worn over leggings should be longer that finger tip length.
